Started AK Ventures (FKA 'Joey Krug's Syndicate') on Angel List with Joey Krug in 2016.We've led several seed rounds, including Seated (Series B from Craft), Findigs (we led Preseed, and co-led Seed along with Streamlined Ventures and Tim Westergren) , KittBio (co-led with Founder's Fund), 0x (First check!), Nourish Technology (co-led Seed with Expa), and Revvo.ai (Norwest led Series A, and subsequent rounds), and have written several other sizable seed checks into 99 Minutos, Bolt (Founder's Fund, West Cap, Tribe Cap, Human Cap), FlipIt, and Stem Sugar FKA Cambridge Glycoscience (Data Collective). In the last 3 years, we've deployed ~13mm, and have already returned >1x in cash, and have markups that go much further!Although we primarily focus on early stage -- mostly seed -- we have done several later stage deals, from Series B to Pre-IPO secondaries. We tend to only invest in things we wish we could work on ourselves if we had more time, so we tend to get really involved, especially with hiring, as well as how to best position the company pitch/narrative. Words are cheap, though, so we always recommend you speak to several of the founders we've backed before we ask you to work with us!
