Partners for Rural Impact supports the educational aspirations of rural students across America by building the capacity of residents and local leaders to develop, implement and sustain place-based solutions to the challenges they face. We build partnerships at the regional and national levels to enhance support from governmental and philanthropic sources for all rural communities.

As director of communications I am responsible for raising awareness of Partners for Education and its distinctive place in serving rural schools and communities, ensuring all communication is aligned to the mission and commitments of Berea College, and preparing strategic communications. The goal of Partners for Education is ensuring all Appalachian youth succeed.

Managing the development and production of Berea College publications including The Berea Magazine, The President’s Report, visitor center and gateway partner publications, admissions brochures, letters and recruitment email, and other college collateral as assigned. Writing content and managing writers as needed for the creation of content for the aforementioned publications. Interacting with clients to produce documents that quantify the scope of project, deadlines, target audiences and production calendars.

I was responsible for teaching courses in composition, journalism, literature, film, and literary theory. In addition, I led the college's accreditation self-study and was an active participant in efforts geared toward assessment and retention.

I taught a variety of classes including composition, research, and world literature.
