Creative Portfolio: I write poetry and non-fiction. I believe in poetry as the holiest form of language use and its evocative power to humanize, empathize, and subvert. My debut full-length poetry collection, Contraband Bodies, will be published in Fall 2025 by NeWest Press and Narrative Landscape.____________________________________________Research: I am currently researching contemporary narratives of country migration in postcolonial Africa. I have published one or two things. My research interests include African migration narratives, diasporic narratives, and African reading communities and new media.Teaching: My teaching philosophy, Ọmọlúwàbí, is locally sourced from my Yorùbá background. It is a life ethos based on radical character of justice and honor, driven by public good. I enjoy anti-colonial, anti-racist, and resistant pedagogy. Currently, I am teaching 'Introduction to Critical Analysis' at the University of Alberta. I have also hosted one or two workshops on writing poetry. ____________________________________________Editing: I edit olongoafrica.com. Trained as a proofreader and editor at University of Alberta Press.
