About J. M. Meyer
My research examines processes of war and organized violence. For ethical reasons, I tend to focus on historical cases, such as in my dissertation, "One Way to Live: Orde Wingate and the adoption of 'special forces' tactics and strategies". My administrative interests include improving persistence in STEM education, especially among minority and first-generation college students. I also develop humanities outreach programming that bridges the gap in understanding between refugees, military veterans, and the general population. More at: http://www.jm-meyer.com. I have also worked as an artist at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the VORTEX, Aquila Theatre, BEDLAM, and elsewhere.
