As an attorney with Bell Legal Group, Ryan's practice is focused on automotive safety/product liability and environmental law. He received his law degree in 2007 from Ohio Northern University and spent summers as a law clerk for the Michie Hamlett Law Firm in Charlottesville, Va. Recognized for his legal research in the sudden acceleration case of Huber vs. Ford, he was hired by the Bell Legal Group team to help prepare for the 2006 Watson vs. Ford case. His research proved integral to the firm’s successful $18 million verdict in the sudden acceleration case against Ford. Since joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Heiskell has served as counsel in several multi-million-dollar verdicts and settlements. His experience includes managing products liability cases involving Ford, GB, Chrysler, Toyota, Kia and Nissan and has represented clients in the field of Environmental Law with pollution claims against International Paper, and Camp Lejeune. He’s currently lead counsel representing a large group of landowners in a West Virginia oil and gas case against a multi-billion-dollar Texas oil company. He was admitted to the South Carolina, 2007; the U.S. District Court Southern District of New York, 2008; the District of Columbia Superior Court, 2012; and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, 2012. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Georgetown Bar Association, on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of South Carolina and is an active member of his community.
