I have over five years of retail and guest services experience and a salesman's intuition. I also have significant knowledge and experience in programming and computer software. These interests may seem to be in completely different realms, but I am able to see how well they work together on a daily basis. Maintaining and improving operational efficiency not only can create a smoother guest experience independently - it can also free the time of our hotel staff so that they can provide the best possible guest experience without distractions. Reduced time crunching numbers, comparing bits of information, or organizing papers means less stress and more time for staff to smile, talk freely with guests, and go the extra mile to ensure that every need is met. I am a natural leader with years of management experience and an appreciation for the several different teams that all contribute to a smoothly functioning and enjoyable hospitality experience. Throughout my time in leadership I have worked to ensure high customer service standards in myself and my team in person, over the phone, and online. I have written handbooks and revised certain practices and policies to improve communication, security, and time spent. During my time in management, I have supervised a very significant increase in our business, and our hotel currently stands as one of the best and most profitable in all of Rapid City. I have also helped to upgrade our hotel's computer and software capabilities through digitization and my own computer programming. My efforts have saved the hotel thousands of sheets of paper each month, and many hours of labor every single week. Some of my programming and software-related projects have included:*Automating parts of our hotel rate-setting process to ensure both optimal revenues and reduced labor hours spent*Displaying data statistics to help aid productivity for management and staff*Creating an algorithm to assist in replying to guest reviews to help avoid repetitive messages and give a more personalized guest experience*Creating a program to simplify report generation tasks, cutting time spent by over 95% and improving report uniformity*Introduced a communication platform for housekeeping to reduce difficulties in communicating finished rooms and other messages*Introduced categorizations to reservations to allow staff to see, at a glance, what reservations were already processed and how*Digitizing many previously paper-dependent processes to increase security, organization, and time saved
