This position is charged with the support and development of affirming and inclusive LGBTQIA+ communities between, and amongst MHC's students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other affiliates as well as developing the institution's practices, policies, structures, and culture to be more LGBTQ+ affirming, and competent.

Cultivate and support a team of twelve full-time professional staff composed of 4 Directors, 6 AssistantDirectors, and 2 Administrative Coordinator. Supervise, and co-develop intergroup dialogue initiatives, trainings, and workshops that engage in foundational social justice education, as well as scaffolded conversations concerning specific identity categories, and key skill development (i.e. facilitation, conflict management, program and project planning etc). Oversee collective programmatic work, inclusive of Heritage and Legacy Month observance, traditional community celebration (Welcome Back BBQ, OICR Student Staff Appreciation, OICR Senior Student Staff Brunch), etc. Serve as institutional consultant on rapid response communications and outreach to impacted communities on campus.

Manage the Queer Resource Center operations, inclusive of budgetary oversight, website and social media, sexual health and gender affirming resource inventory. Supervise and develop 7-9 student staff members to coordinate center programming, social media, outreach, collaboration, special projects, and the physical lounge space. Serve as informal advisor to sexuality and gender-based student organizations and clubs.Support and facilitate the development and execution of collaborative, signature, and serial programs led by student and professional staff that centers the personal, intellectual and professional development of LGBTQ+ students and campus community members at large, including: Dimensions: Fashion Show and Clothing Swap, Vocal Action Series: Anti-racist and Gender Affirming Practice in Vocal Ensemble Work. Support and facilitate Alumni Engagement programming in collaboration with Alumni and Parent Programming, including: LGBTQIA+ Resilience and Resistance at and after Amherst Alumni Panel, LGBTQ+ Alumni Day, Reunion LGBTQ+ Alumni Reception, Purple Pride- NYC Pride with Williams College Lead, develop, and implement collaborative initiatives with campus partners, including: Trans Connection Project (Mentor Program), The Free Closet, Trans Inclusion in the Workplace Workshop Series, Development and campus-wide distribution of Pronoun Guide, Gender Inclusive Restroom Project, Comprehensive Chosen Name project, Financial Aid Emergency Fund Benchmarking. Active member of collaborative team tasked with the co-creation and delivery of social justice programs, workshops, resources, and services that highlight the intersections of identity and community including: Social Justice Leadership LEAP Retreat for first-year orientation, Resource Centers Team Summer Cohort Internship program, Identity and Power 101 and 201, Cultivating Affirming and Inclusion Community Trainings, et al. Serve on campus-wide committees and divisional working groups.

Supervised by Dr. Jarvis Watson, Assistant Dean of Multicultural Affairs, Responsible for the development, execution, and assessment of program consisting discussion panel of students, staff, and faculty centering black queer experiences inspired by Barry Jenkins’ film Moonlight (2016).

Founding staff, and program creator. Responsible for area’s program development, coordination, outreach, and advertising within team dynamic. Develop and execute cross-area and inter-divisional collaborations, including but not limited to: LGBTQ* [campus] Life program series, and “Studying Queerly” collaboration with Humanities Institute. Task supervision of undergraduate staff and interns, including oversight of social media program, graphic design, and website content. Facilitate, assess, and develop Stony Brook’s Safe Space Workshop Program, composed of a 2-hour and 4-hour training workshops. Northeast LGBT College Conference 2016 Competency Training Subcommittee Co-chairCoordinate committee composed of faculty, staff, and student leaders in the creation of a competency training for major stakeholders and constituencies working with NELGBTCC ’16 attendees including: hotel workers/staff, food services providers, and volunteers. Create and deliver both facilitator training workshop, and competency training. Active member of core NELGBTCC 2016 Planning Committee

Coordinated outreach, programming, and mobilization of graduate student workers Organized campus-wide membership drives during orientation and other key periods in the academic year. Supervision of graduate student department mobilizers to aid in promotion of union activity Main organizer and facilitator of the May Day Coalition, a coalition of labor, student, and community organizations dedicated to the actuation of truly free and liberated education. The main function of the coalition was to organize Free University at Stony Brook, day-long demonstration of free, accessible classes in public space the week of May Day every year.
