My goals upon taking office were to grow the team, migrate on-prem servers to the cloud, and bring the organization into compliance with information security requirements. Additionally, there was a clear aim to consolidate IT solutions and make them more technically uniform. Over many years as an external developer, I observed that the learning curve to understand forestry processes can be quite long. The effectiveness of an external IT worker compared to an experienced in-house employee often varies significantly. I saw building core competencies within our team as a particularly important strategic task, also establishing a software product owner role. I am very pleased that we have managed to document RMKs IT systems at the minimal required level, significantly mitigating knowledge dependency risks and thereby reducing the threat to business continuity.

From an idea to a business with paying clients in just one month. I had the technical skills and the drive – and that's how it happened. We participated in a business accelerator and the TV show 'Ajujaht.' I recruited and, unfortunately, also had to let go of some technical talent along the way. It was an incredibly cool experience. Today, I’ve stepped back from the core business operations but remain proud of what we built and the lessons learned from the journey.
