The Capability Manager looks after a team of testers. My team is anywhere between 18 and 25 test professionals. As a Cap Manager I am responsible for ensuring that we hire the right people and once hired, their capabilities need to kept actual and relevant. In addition, I am a mentor for all of my team members.I am also responsible for the development and delivery of training within Qual IT, both technical as well as interpersonal training.This role is reporting to the Senior Leadership team.

Pecoma Business Technology (now QNH consulting) is an IT solutions developer and integrator, with seven so called Competence Lines (Business Units), and one of them was the Competence Line testing. I started as Test Specialist at Pecoma’s working on various projects for Pecoma’s customers. January 2008 to June 2008: Test manager at the Council of Maastricht. Maastricht had the ambition to provide services via the Internet. This was implemented via off the shelf software, and this has to be tested. Maastricht did not have any experience with structured testing. I created the Master Test Plan, and was responsible for the execution of the testing process.Test consultant at The Factor.e. TFE is a small web design organisation, which has grown turbulently. As a result, their development process as well as their project management neededto be professionalised. The operational manager wanted to use a professional test organisation as a catalyst to improve these areas of interest. The challenge was to come up with a fitting test process that did not hamper the artistic skills in the organisation. The result is that a test process is now in place, resulting in fewer errors in the code.April 2007 to January 2008: Test Specialist at the project Digital Insurance Message atUWV. UWV is the organisation that is responsible for, amongst others, the mandatory unemployment insurance for Dutch employers. The aim of the project was to realise that each employer has a portal to download their current status. I was responsible for testing a part of the solution, and the interface to the national IRD. I also helped to create the test strategy, and created tools and templates.January 2006 to April 2007: Business Acceptance Manager at ABNAMRO. ABNAMRO outsourced their test organisation to India. A new Quality Assurance process had to be implemented. The solution was the Business Acceptance process. I created this process. As a result, the software that is delivered to ABNAMRO is tested by the business through a formal acceptance process, with the focus on reviews and inspections of designs and requirements.November 2003 to January 2006: Test Specialist Multi Channels Business Solutionswithin ABNAMRO. This was a continuation from the freelance engagement below.
