    In 2014, my title was changed to that of Chief Information Officer (CIO). During this time I established the required IT Governance Structures and artifacts in line with the prescribed Government Governance Framework. I also digitised and automated all the required service request forms underlying our comprehensive IT Policy and Procedure Manual, linking them to preset approval workflows and SLA's. This period also saw my active involvement in establishing a National Beneficiary Registry of all funded medical aid members in South Africa. To this end, I established the IT Advisory Group (ITAG), a medical schemes industry IT advisory group whose aim it is to deliberate and agree on all IT systems which impact the industry directly. I also led several delegations to introduce the proposed system to principal officers and was a Keynote Speaker on the Board of Healthcare Funders National Conference in 2017 where I introduced the system to the industry. I also assisted the unit in project managing the development of the system and a working system was produced in January 2018.Other duties during this time include alignment between business and ICT, providing technology vision and direction to business, advising the Executive Management Committee and Council accordingly, managing an IT staff complement of 13, performing budget planning and control, performance management, project management, IT Governance, IT asset management, IT policy and procedure management, IT risk management, SLA management and overseeing software development efforts amongst other duties.

    In 2010, I was again promoted and my title was changed to Head: ICT. During this period I completed the Masters Degree: Business Information Systems (Cum Laude) at the Tshwane University of Technology. Some of the big projects concluded during this time included project managing the procurement and fitting out of a new Head Office for the CMS in Centurion and also coordinating the move of IT Infrastructure, staff and furniture to the new premises. This was achieved with less than half a day downtime. During this period, my focus was also on establishing a consolidated IT Policy Manual with a set of comprehensive IT Procedures and having it approved by Council. Other duties during this time included refining the attainment of strategic alignment between business and ICT, providing technology vision and direction to the organisation, managing a staff complement of 13, performing budget planning and control, performance management, project management, asset management, policy and procedure management, risk management, SLA management and software management amongst other duties.
