About Jaap Maljers
For over 30 years I have been an entrepreneur in health (tech) care. Although my attitude is that of a business man I have a strong social drive. I believe that entrepreneurship contributes to making our world a better place! Health care should (and can) be affordable, accessible and of equal quality any where worldwide! Better organization, better government and the use of technology is the key to this goal.I have founded (and co-founded) several companies in the health care space: Plexus (tech consultancy); ZorgDomein (health system integrator); Performation (data mining), Incision (surgical academy and ERP tool for OR staff). My current focus is very much on AI related health care (e.g Quantib, SkinVision).I have a strong drive to apply my entrepreneurial skill for social purposes. For me the concept of profitability is a necessity for 'real value' and sustainable operations. In 2011 I cofounded NL-Voorelkaar a volunteer marketplace. In 2021 NL-Voorelkaar has moderated over 200.000 volunteer matches and with a profitability of 5-10% it has a strong base for further innovation and continuity. In 2020 I founded eBee for electric mobility in (urban) Africa. Our aim is 5 billion clean kilometers by 2030, 250.000 jobs with at least 40% female participation.
