The role of a S.A.F.E mentor is to guide incoming first-year students to prepare them for college life better. We have the students come one week before the start of school to show them the campus and also have them attend sessions that will help them throughout their college career. Throughout the school year, their assigned mentor stays in contact with.

As a graduated youth staff at YES! I help aid adult leads in their projects alongside with youth staff. I am usually assigned to do both adult and youth training that involve racial equity and youth empowerment. Also, I am chosen to travel most often due to my experience in youth empowerment work and my familarty with the material.

My main tasks as an intern were writing victim impact statements regarding the status of their case,, managing day-to-day office activities such as copying/organizing cases and mailing letters, and taking notes during court proceedings.
