About Joshua Abel

'I came here to shoot nerf darts and build stuff... and I'm all outta nerf darts.'PGP public key fingerprint: A809 1EF9 0AEE 24A0 B195 327E C040 85D4 4BFC 2906Since I was a child I have enjoyed tinkering and disassembling things to understand how they work which also meant I had to learn to fix what I broke in the process and put everything back together before my parents found out. Sorry about that VCR Dad.. As a people leader I am deeply passionate about motivating, coaching, and mentoring others to reach their full potential. The foundation of my mission in life is rooted in service to others - no fluffy feel good rhetoric, I know that I am on this earth to help and serve others. The experience I gained during my time in United States Army (Iraq War Combat Veteran) and as a Captain in the Fire Service putting out literal fires and solving emergencies on people's worst day prove that I excel in high pressure situations, can manage multiple priorities, and can turn a strategic vision into tactical work that focuses on the outcome. I spend my days promoting a culture that focuses on the outcome, being agile, wrangling code, kicking servers in the teeth, breaking down silos, and architecting awesomeness. In my own words What is Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and why is it important?“Site Reliability Engineering delivers value by providing meaningful metrics and user persona objectives to the business and engineering teams which provide and shape the balance between development velocity with operational stability.”Top 5 Gallup Strengths: Command, Relator, Activator, Self-Assurance, Focus.Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: ENTJ (Extraversion, Intuition, Thinking, Judgment)DiSC Profile Personality Type: D
