Software Development Manager, AWS Infrastructure Planning, 2011-2016I built an organization of several teams that build tools to maximize Amazon's compute infrastructure investment, so Amazon software teams can scale at the lowest cost. Our tools help Amazon predict their future capacity needs so they can stay ahead of their rapid growth, identify and eliminate waste, and make it easy for developers to get the capacity they need quickly. These business-critical transactional and financial systems are responsible for managing Amazon.com's technology capital and operating expense budgets and achieving material cost savings annually.

Software Development Manager, Workflow Applications (2008-2011)I formed the Workflow Applications team, focused on enabling Amazon teams to be more effective by building workflow systems to reduce their cycle times, error rates, and business metrics. This was a really interesting role that was central to the entire company. My customers included all SDE's globally (solving problems like triggering instant paging notifications when a problem arose on the website or in any software system), fulfillment centers (solving problems like reducing time to process inventory and shipping failures), data centers (solving problems like reducing the time to replace hard drives), and HR (enabling them to scale their operations to support a massively growing employee base as Amazon hired at a blinding pace).

ICS was a small software consulting company that did large-scale software projects for the government as well as smaller projects for local businesses. My role was to provide software design and development, project planning, and process analysis. I developed an Asset Management System to consolidate and support Logistics and Maintenance operations at several Air Force bases. I also led the design and development of the consolidated Help Desk system at Edwards Air Force Base.
