As Director, I planned, organized, and directed the VBMS Project Management Office which developed and deployed the technology cornerstone of VA's transformation efforts. Under my leadership VBMS delivered seventeen separate software releases in one year and deployed to over 18,000 users, including 56 VA Regional Offices, 125 VA Medical Centers and numerous Veterans Service Organizations. VBMS is fully operational and processing Veterans claims significantly faster than the prior legacy applications.

Served as the Assistant Director for the VA Regional Office located in Nashville, Tennessee, which provided benefits and services to over 400,000 Veterans in the State of Tennessee. Directly supervised over 100 personnel in the operations of the National Call Center, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment and Support Services Divisions.

Provided direct supervision three management analysts and one program analyst. Assisted the Southern Area Director in the oversight of twelve Regional Offices in eleven states and the District of Columbia. My primary duties as an analyst involve assistance in the oversight of my assigned stations, as well as serving as the Area representative for budget and staffing. I assisted the Area Director in his role with the implementation and expansion of the Disability Evaluation System (DES) pilot program. I led two separate help teams in the reorganization of the Washington Regional Office to a National Burial Processing Center. I served as a one of four primary committee members that planned, organized and executed the Performance Analysis and Integrity Management Analyst Workshop in November 2008. I led the Records Control workgroup that was instrumental in the development and implementation of the VBA policy on the control and disposition of temporary paper records.

My principal duties involved active participation with all aspects of station management exclusive of supervisory duties. I maintained verbal and written contact with internal personnel at all levels of the organization. Additionally, I routinely provided written and oral communications to external personnel, such as Southern Area Office, Central Office, Service Organizations, VHA and NCA. I advised station management on issues relating to internal controls, position management, and budget and staffing. I developed numerous local workload management applications to assist the divisions. I maintained oversight of the Systematic Analyses of Operations program for the office; served as the Alternate Human Resources Liaison and the Budget and Public Affairs Officer. I prepared briefings and presentations for the Director and Assistant Director, and provided training to management and employees. In 2006, I was selected to serve in the Southern Area Office on a two-week detail as Management Analyst. In October 2007, I served a three-week detail in the Office of Field Operations as a Management Analyst.

Served in a variety of positions of increased responsibility, ultimately supervising a team of 30 benefits claims processors. Prior to my promotion to Supervisory Veterans Service Representative in January 2002, I served as Management Analyst for the Veterans Service Center from June 2000 to December 2001. During my tenure as VSC Management Analyst, I developed numerous workload management applications to assist employee-managed teams in the daily operations of their teams. Additionally, I served as division training coordinator during this assignment.

Served five years on active duty as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Battalion Supply Officer. I served two tours in Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
