Modern Black Contemporary aims to connect Black artists, writers, scholars, and diverse creatives, with the intent to foster connectivity, facilitate collaboration, and share essential resources, by creating structures of support and a digital platform for radical praxis and experimentation. Founded in 2017 as a fine art blog that archived and commemorated significant art historical contributions by Black artists, MBC has shifted its efforts to facilitate connections between emerging and under-resourced creatives, as well as, to bridge the gap between independent and institutionally supported creatives. Holding close the value that there is great power in interdisciplinary and intergenerational community, MBC is invested in creating and maintaining space for this nature of connection to emerge and be sustained collectively.

As an intern at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, I am learning valuable skills for success in a diverse museum setting. Along with strengthening administrative skills, such as Microsoft Excel and TMS (The Museum System), I am honing valuable professional skills, and solidifying my knowledge of various periods and forms of art, both domestic and international.

Learned and performed day to day tasks essential for gallery operations, including answering customer inquiries, consulting with artists and collectors, completing sales , as well as, daily housekeeping.
