Achievements:- Plan and manage activities for students from year 7-12 from low socio-economic backgrounds to improve their awareness and inform their aspirations of Higher Education. In 2017 I have run 29 events with 1578 students. Over 32% indicated they were now more interested in going to uni after participating in the event and over 16% said they had not considered university before but were now interested. Of attending teachers to our events, 100% agreed the activity helped their students feel more confident about participating in higher education, and over 72% of teachers said the activity helped their students understand the value of studying at university. - Meet with senior school staff via in-person meetings, phone and email correspondence- Support and build the capability of school leaders, teachers, other school based staff and students to implement a sustainable suite of programs to inform aspirations to go onto higher education- Recruit and manage student facilitators for events (30 casual direct reports, plus support staff);- Contribute to SPP policy and evaluation to ensure quality outcomes for the University and its school partners, as well as for providing input and support to the multi-campus team manager to bid for future federal government funding for our program based on our results- Create one-off pilot programs such as the ‘Reach for La Trobe’ pilot event for young people in out-of-home care, their carers and community services (September 2016 ) to address the gap in aspiration of young people disengaged from the education system.

The goal of Crimson Movement is to work in collaboration with multiple and diverse stakeholders in order to empower communities to understand and address barriers facing women and girls due to menstruation. This is being achieved through a global social movement tackling four major areas of action: financial, environmental, cultural and educational. This will empower women and girls to achieve their full potential. Roles and Responsibilities- Develop research and facilitate discussions around the barriers facing women and girls due to menstruation globally including managing the Crimson Movement blog and social media - Build partnerships by providing consultations and support to various community organisations including Eco Femme (India) for their rural education and product development seminars- Manage and support different projects including assessing, designing, implementing and evaluating projects such as the Purse Pad Project in Papua New Guinea- Develop grant funding applications for the organisation

The Lifestart Foundation is a grassroots, not-for-profit charity that helps disadvantaged Vietnamese people and their families to become self-sufficient. Founded in 2000 by Australian Karen Leonard and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, the Foundation applies a holistic approach to helping those in need through proven working programs and initiatives which are designed to effect a generational change.The team works to create sustainable and ongoing income streams for the disadvantaged via education and vocational training schemes. Those with complex disabilities are given improved opportunities through the Lifestart Foundation Workshop and the Lifestart Foundation Free Disability Community Centre. Assistance also comes in the form of safe accommodation, transportation, medical support and dental treatment.The Lifestart Foundation continues to develop projects that will enable the charity to become self-sufficient. These include the production and sale of Longlife Natural Body Products, the Lifestart Foundation Workshop tours and the Stitch-In-Time collaboration between the Lifestart Foundation and Spotlight Australasia.
