About Jace Simons
I have known I wanted to go into engineering since I was a kid. I landed in software engineering as I got older, and have loved every minute of it. I've had 3 engineering internships thus far in my career, and I'm currently a frontend developer working in React and Next JS, writing and designing a data visualization web application. Over the course of managing two separate teams of engineering interns, I have learned about the value of teamwork and collaboration, while still being able to make decisions as a project manager and make direction for the team. I pride myself on my interpersonal and soft skills, in addition to my technical software engineering skills.The 'T-shaped engineer' usually refers to someone who is really good at frontend and has experience at serverside, or who is really good at database and has experience in frontend. But I have a unique skillset amongst engineers, being that I am good at frontend development with React/Next, Flutter and React Native, but also in UI/UX design, having formal education and extensive experience in both. Though I aspire to someday grow into a proper fullstack engineer, as I have experience in Java and Springboot, having developed 2FA for a web application, but I am actively trying to get more serverside experience.
