I graduated from Pensacola State College with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences for Graphic Design and Business Management. While my major was graphic design, my minor in business management was just as important. Working with people and for people is a huge aspect of graphic design, having knowledge on the business aspect of our world is a plus.Currently, I intern at Bear Walker Skatecraft where I illustrate assets for collectable and custom skateboards that are produced for large pop culture companies. Prior to Bear Walker, I was an intern at Lamar Advertising, where I created multiple digital billboards daily. I enjoyed seeing a brand for the first time and using my skills to create an advertisement using elements from that company's brand. At Lamar, I learned quite a few valuable skills sets. Such as properly resizing photos in photoshop, understanding copy right laws, communicating with sales, using ShutterStock images to create designs, and of course, applying branding to each ad. When I started with Lamar I was completing 50 boards per month, and the end of the 8 month internship, I was finishing 150 per month.Prior to Lamar, I worked in the food service industry and customer service. Being a server helped me understand people and work as a team with my coworkers. Keeping people happy by giving them what they want was a majority of my job, as was communicating with other staff and solving problems when they arose. I’ve also picked up freelance jobs, mostly illustrative, along the way. Always, pushing myself and learning new techniques is part of the fuel to my fire. I am always willing to learn and learn about every perspective of our design world.
