I am a 2018 Graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelors degree in Finance. I very much enjoy jobs that involve personal interactions and building relationships with people. I have a substantial amount of experience working with people and customer service since I was in the restaurant/service industry for almost 5 years during my college career and after. While in college, I took strategic finance classes along with a variety of other business management classes that have equipped me with many valuable strategies and skills that will guide me in my career path. Shortly after college. I worked for AuburnBank as a Branch Specialist where I learned how to interact with people in a different type of service environment while providing the best customer service to them. My biggest challenge/success with this job was learning how to keep the customers satisfied and happy while completing the tasks they needed in a timely and efficient manner. I also learned how important it is to follow specific directions and procedures of a company, especially at a bank when you are managing peoples’ money. I currently work at the Achievement Center - EasterSeals. We are a Vocational Rehab for people with disabilities. My beginning role was an Employment Specialist. My job consisted of finding consumers permanent employment in a competitive environment, as well as preparing them to enter or keep employment. I also assist them with overcoming obstacles and challenges that they may face due to their disability. My main goal was to get consumers jobs that are most convenient to them and their interests and giving them the tools to succeed. My current role is the Director of the Developmental Services Department. I still manage a smaller caseload of consumers as I did before, but I now direct and advise the other employment specialists as well as our transition department. The transition department involves our staff members going out into the local and surrounding counties’ high schools and teaching transitional classes to our students with disabilities. So far, the skills I have adapted from this job are DRIVE and lots of it, as well as networking and relationship building skills. I also have learned how to be a great, honest, and professional leader. This is my first leadership role and it is something that I am still learning how to be better at every single day. This job has taught me that there is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have made a positive impact on someone’s life or day, and this is my ultimate goal!
