CurrentKey Responsibilities: 1. Patient Care: • Prepare patients for examination and treatment, taking vital signs and medical histories. • Assist the physician during examinations and procedures. • Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed. • Provide wound care, suture removal, and other minor treatments. • Educate patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and prescribed treatments. 2. Clinical Support: • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing. • Perform basic laboratory tests and screenings. • Sterilize medical instruments and ensure the cleanliness of examination rooms. • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper functionality. 3. Administrative Duties: • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic health records (EHR). • Handle patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting co-pays and verifying insurance information. • Answer phone calls and manage patient inquiries. 4. Coordination and Communication: • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team. • Coordinate referrals to specialists and arrange diagnostic tests. • Follow up with patients regarding test results, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments. 5. Compliance and Safety: • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures. • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing medical practice. • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities. 6. Support and Teamwork: • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. • Assist in training and mentoring new staff members. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and office meetings.
