Program Coordinator/Lecturer
The first point of contact for all online and face to face students. Address the needs and concerns along with the faculty and staff to implement resolutions. Currently the program has over 300 online students and over 200 face-to-face students. I advise a high level of students during peak and off peak times. Advise students on the program requirements and admissions procedures as well as with financial aid information. Responsible for internal operations including processing, imaging and indexing new student application packets utilizing various databases including Xtender Imaging Solution, and Banner Student System. Develop, and distribute necessary materials from recruitment materials to admissions decision letters. Evaluate and process degree audits for current and graduating students. Member of the Admissions, Progression and Retention Committee. The committee implements program policies and expectations for the faculty and the students in the program. Work cooperatively with the Admissions, Registrar’s and IT Offices on campus to identify and implement distance education and learning tools. Attend monthly departmental meetings where the program is discussed. Work cooperatively with the Center for Online Education to coordinate new student orientations to allow online students face-to-face training. Facilitate training sessions for faculty and students new to online teaching and learning. Develop marketing and recruitment presentations to recruit students from across the state of North Carolina. Regularly attend conferences and workshops regarding transfer students and online learning. Evaluate, interview and hire new staff members for the department. Train newly hired staff and serve as the supervisor of the student employees each semester.Certified Ethics and Civic Engagement Teaching Fellow. Lecturer of the online Ethics and Civic Engagement course available to all students.
