I am the founder and director of Jack Alexander Studio. Founded in 2017, Jack Alexander Architecture Studio is an award-winning architectural design practice specialising in luxury lodge and private island design.Jack Alexander Studio also works in close collaboration with Chris Browne and Debra Fox and their Fox Browne Creative team. The partnership allows us to collectively offer a broad range of bespoke design services from master planning, through architecture, interior design and strategic hospitality and training.I graduated Cum-Laude with a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of the Witwatersrand, and have worked on several award-winning lodges and private islands throughout sub-Saharan Africa, before founding my own studio in 2017. My inspiration comes from the extraordinary places in which I’ve had the opportunity to work and to build. Our design work is fundamentally premised on its ability to reconcile itself with its context – physically, culturally, and aesthetically. The buildings and spaces we craft are all different, but they all follow the same basic principles: always reactionary, always circumstantial and always a product of their place.
