At Citizens Advice, I am able to provide assistance on a wide range of topics and subject matters.

ELIPS is an online employment litigation advice platform which assists in providing employees understanding of their rights, pathways for disputing employment issues and guidance on a wide range of problems. As a student volunteer, I am able to interact with solicitors and clients to better understand how employment law functions as well as gain practical experience of the skills needed to provide advice to clients. In this role, I provide correspondence to clients, complete administrative tasks such as taking attendance notes and provide legal research for topics necessary to a particular set of facts.

LegaCare is a registered charity that provides free legal advice and support to anyone suffering from life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses. As a student volunteer I have been able to meet with clients to understand their legal concerns, complete administrative tasks using legal software such as Arken, and provide input through correspondence on a wide range of subject matters.

My role at Best Western Hotels imparted me with wide ranging skills and experiences relevant inside and outside the scope of hospitality. Due to my expertise in both restaurant management and provision of functions such as weddings and wakes, I have gained high-level organisation, professionalism and leadership skills. Instances such as customer complaints and providing customer personalisation has imparted me with both customer empathy and professionalism as well as a high degree of tenacity to fulfil exact specifications allocated to me. This has been received with gratitude from Best Western, illustrated through my award of ‘Employee of the Month’ in three straight months (July 2019-September 2019).

During my time at J D Wetherspoon I gained invaluable skills in customer service, problem solving and small team leadership in order to properly organise and fulfil tasks required of me. Notably, during high footfall events such as match-day fixtures or local events, I achieved high level staff and asset organisation above and beyond what was required within my job role. My role further progressed my professionalism outside of hospitality. I gained insight of wide-scale management of an organisation through frequent meetings with regional and national managers in which I made suggestions for amendments to the best practices and facilities of the workplace. Additionally, I participated in charity events on behalf of the company, such as a cycling fundraising event on behalf of MacMillan Cancer Research to further boost both my personal and company involvement in charity contributions. Finally, I also integrated into a tight knit team and achieved this through being approachable to all levels of the Wetherspoon community, from customers to management, and sought to constantly improve and learn the skills within the job role.
