The restaurant is attached to a Premier Inn and has a wide range of guests to which I associate with from business people to families and to couples.I manage shifts on my own with a server, bar staff and chefs, from breakfast bookings to dinner bookings via our online system that is booked in externally, to which I host during the peak times.I keep high levels of health and safety standards and cleanliness especially from the kitchen pass due to it being an open kitchen that guests can see intoI also am a trusted key holder to lock the building up in the evening as well as open it in the morningWith this job I also assist the GM with the reset of the week with accurately checking and filing paperwork to its necessary location.I am also trusted to hand over the safes and count the sites float multiple times a day.I am also the Charity Champion - Great Ormand Street HospitalWith this job I have received the safety modules required for the job.

Whilst I have been employed here I have done various Front of House work like; helping our customers that need assistance in offers or complaints that there may be, I engage with lots of people with many being different types of people than I would usually encounter. The role has developed my communication skills as I have to talk with many different levels of authority and different team members whose roles vary within my working environment, because of this I am happy to ask what to do if I am unsure and new to a role, I am often left to work using my own initiative which helps the team of staff especially when it is busy, which also is how flexible I am because I can go onto the bar from the floor if it is required without it hindering the floors workings, this also shows I have experience in till work and money handling.I am also responsible to clean up the bar areas and the restaurant where customers have vacated to ensure I follow the hygiene regulations within the catering industry, when I have to clean the kitchen I also have to replenish the desert area when stock is low for the next day from the cooled walk-in storages.As this line of work can get very fast paced and busy it is imperative we work as a team which we do to keep the restaurant moving at a steady pace, whilst having a sense of humour. I have started to also act as a floor manager when there's multiple staff and busy, an example of a key time I have done this is Christmas and Mother’s Day. I have done a few training modules toward this job for example “Cellar Work” and “Food Safety” and “How to Work Front of House.

and their other outlets – Whilst I have been doing my college placement here I have; cleaned out and handled various species of animal including fish and birds, help our customers that needed assistance, replenished shelves when stock was low, helped bring in deliveries and worked as a full member of the team in the stores. I am often left to work on my own initiative which helps the staff especially when it is busy, and due to this skill now that a new placement student is here I have been given the responsibility to show her the best ways to do various tasks, to be efficient at completing them. I engaged with customers which has been beneficial for the team as it frees them up with the extra responsibility that I was given.
