My name is Jack Buckley, and I'm a Mechanical Engineer at Ryan Aerospace. I have always had the desire to understand how things work down to a fundamental level. When I was a kid, I would always take things in my parents' garage apart for fun and reassemble them. Obviously, as a kid, the reassembly process didn't always go off without a hitch, so my dad decided it would be for the best if he just got me electronics and science kits. These kits came with instruction manuals that not only explained how to assemble whatever was inside but also how they work. Being able to read these explanations as well as see them in action was enthralling, and being able to carry that knowledge to other applications was a wonderful thing. This innate curiosity never really subsided. I chose to study engineering as a way to be able to channel this curiosity, and use it to build upon this world.I am passionate about solving problems. The learning process of analysing an issue, breaking it down into parts and figuring out methods to resolve each part is very fulfilling. Be it fixing something that has stopped working, developing a new system to accomplish a task, or even reiterating a design for improvement. If there is a problem, I want to solve it.
