I worked as a solicitor and TEP in the following areas:- WILL PREPARATION - understanding a client's priorities and wishes, and setting out the options, and guiding them to the solution best suited to their and their family's own particular circumstances.- TAX AND ESTATE PLANNING - whether clients are looking for the most effective and tax-efficient method of making gifts, or simply wanting to know what their estate's Inheritance Tax liability might be and your options for mitigating this, I provided specialist and sensible advice, presented in a clear and helpful manner.- TRUST ADVICE - I assisted client both in setting up new trusts and with advice and tax calculations at key events throughout their life, explaining the issues in plain English.- LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY - in particular, I have specific expertise in making sure that LPAs work for business owners.- PROBATE AND ADMINISTRATION OF ESTATES - I worked flexibly in whatever way best suited clients, whether that's taking the entire process off their hands, providing specific advice and ad hoc assistance along the way, or anything in between. Either way, I would identify the relevant legal issues and provide a sensitive and professional service. I also advised on options to vary the entitlement to an estate.- DIGITAL ASSETS - these days ever more of the value of our estates – both financially and emotionally - exists purely digitally, and old-fashioned ways of estate and administration are no longer sufficient. I have been taking a lead in this new area for several years, and in 2019 was elected to the Steering Committee of STEP's Digital Assets SIG. I helped clients ensure their assets will be identified and emotionally-significant records such as photos and videos dealt with in accordance with their wishes. I also helped those administering estate to ensure that they had located assets and liabilities without a paper record, and advise on handling a person's digital legacy.

I completed my training contract with Ashtons Legal and qualified as a Solicitor in September 2014. I now work in the Lifetime Planning department specialising in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate, and Estate Planning. I have a particular interest in digital assets.I was recognised as one of the top students for the first half of 2016 by the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP), having received a Distinction and achieved the highest mark in my class for the STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation.
