Throughout my 6-week placement at Weber Shandwick I was able to immerse and experience what it is like to work in the industry of PR and Advertising. Whilst there, I was assigned multiple tasks such as writing Content Calendars for the social media accounts of some of Weber Shandwick Scotland's biggest clients, writing multiple Press Releases and preparing advertorials, conducting research to build databases of media contacts and building reports.I also became proficient in using tools such as Gorkana. During my experience, I got to be included in on training sessions ranging from how to conduct research to analytics - all which built on my knowledge of these areas.

This six-week placement at Becky White PR involved working within a smaller agency in the industry of PR and Advertising. Tasks included: conducting online checks of digital influencers who have received products/services from BWPR, general admin, gift send outs, attending and contributing at creative weekly meetings, writing trend reports and creating videos for client’s social media accounts.This internship was beneficial in giving an insight into the field and allowed me to apply academic experience to actual tasks that was assigned.

Whilst working at Sainsbury’s I had to undertake many roles. I was mainly based in the warehouse in which I had to break down stock that came in, receive deliveries and make sure that the warehouse was kept in working order. However, occasionally I had to go onto the shop floor to help dress and replenish shelves, providing a high standard of service for any customers with their enquiries and supporting other colleagues. The job really helped me improve my communication skills and the ability to provide a quality customer service.
