I am a trained journalist, having graduated with First Class Honours on an NCTJ-accredited Multimedia Journalism course at university, and I have the varied skill set to work in any environment and produce news pieces for any media platform.Currently I am the Editor one of the biggest dental trade magazines in the UK and duties include writing feature articles, adapting online news and sub-editing pieces from other members of the editorial team. I am confident using a variety of content management systems and I have a lot of experience managing social media channels to engage readers and encourage interactionMy confidence and communication skills have been boosted thanks to the work that I do; I am adept at interview techniques, whether it is with company CEOs, industry experts or simply just people on the street.Other skills include: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Quark Xpress, Wordpress, Adobe Audition, Burli & Final Cut Pro.In my spare time I volunteer at a local radio station; I started out helping on The Saturday Show and covering other shows, but most recently I was the host of the weekday Early Breakfast Show.At university I produced a whole host of multimedia news packages and I was involved in several extra projects, including a report for the Community Channel and an interview with the ex-Archbishop of Canterbury. I also set up my own website (Crime Sight) to help showcase my skills; for this I was interviewing key local people, self-shooting and editing video reports, producing radio vox-pop content and writing in-depth feature articles.My involvement in these areas has helped me hone my skills as an all-round journalist but I am always very keen to build on my knowledge and develop as an individual.
