Working onshore and offshore in this role, I carry out and supervise the routine inspection, integrity testing, maintenance and repair of surface wellheads, xmas trees and actuators. I have experience working on numerous equipment manufacturers including Vetco, FMC, Cameron, McEvoy, WKM, DrilQuip, Baker, Otis, AVA and Axelson. Simmons Edeco and Well Centric merge to form Unity Well Integrity. I continued as a grade 2 wellhead maintenance technician, working towards a promotion to grade 1 wellhead maintenance supervisor.

Promoted to grade 3 wellhead maintenance technician in January 2014, and again to grade 2 wellhead maintenance technician in May 2017. These roles involved working onshore and offshore carrying out routine inspection, integrity testing, maintenance and repair on a wide range of surface wellheads, xmas trees, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators.

My role as a workshop technician at Simmons Edeco involved the overhaul and refurbishment of a wide range of surface wellhead equipment. My workshop duties mainly covered the following;• Xmas tree overhaul and refurbishment.• Gate/ball/plug valve overhaul and refurbishment.• Hydraulic and pneumatic actuator overhaul and refurbishment.• Sand filter and heat exchanger overhaul and refurbishment.• Use of mechanical and hydraulic torque equipment.• Hydrostatic pressure testing to API/ANSI requirements.• High pressure instrument fittings (small bore).• Overhaul and refurbishment of service equipment including test pumps, hoses, pressure relief tools and gauges.• Container packing in preparation to mobilising offshore.• Completing route sheets and associated paperwork.

I completed my apprenticeship at Becks Motorhomes leading to a City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in light vehicle maintenance and repair. I also became a certified MOT tester of class 4 and 7 vehicles. During my final 3 years with Becks, I worked in the light vehicle department alone, dealing with the majority of customer and company requirements such as scheduling jobs, quoting for repairs and stock control. I spent almost 11 years at Becks, during which time I developed a very strong mechanical aptitude as well as excellent customer and colleague relationship skills.
