Joined SCP as editorial manager in 2012 after a career journey that started in newspapers before detouring into book publishing and then university communications. Role included writing, editing, proofing, project management, strategic counsel, and editorial expertise for a full-service consulting firm that provides communications and strategic planning services to nonprofit organizations, foundations, and government agencies whose missions the firm admires and whose values it shares. SCP is a certified B corporation, which means that it meets established high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.Responsibilities included managing, editing, and writing for clients including the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR), Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions, Grantmakers In Aging (GIA), and the Hillman Scholars in Nursing Innovation, among others. Edited The Doctor’s Book of Home Remedies for Men and the 15-book Men’s Health Life Improvement Guides, along with numerous other books as managing editor of Men’s Health Books for Rodale Press in Emmaus, Pa. Also managed Rodale’s most successful book publishing program, Prevention Health Books, and served as writing director, overseeing a staff of more than a dozen in-house health writers.

As a journalist, worked as a reporter for the Delaware State News, Philadelphia Inquirer, Omaha World-Herald, and Hartford Courant, covering everything from small town councils to state government and politics.
