J & A Restaurants, LLC is the operating company dba Stingers Pizza Pub.

J&A specializes in acquiring real estate assets of food service concepts in conjunction with our operating division J&A Restaurants. Our objective is to increase profitability and return the operating company over to employees. We retain real estate assets and provide guidance to the operating company until it is functional & highly profitable. We then begin the process of transferring ownership of the operating company through an ESOP (employee stock option plan).After years of food service experience developing concepts both domestically & internationally Dr. Cushman realized a need within the restaurant industry for developing best practices in menu engineering, distribution, concept development, layout & design, marketing, organizational structure, operations, training & education all coupled with KSA (knowledge-skills-abilities) specific to each aspect of success. J&A does offer consulting at the President or Board level on a limited basis.Dr. Cushman’s career encompasses over 40 years of experience including multiple academic positions. He was a professor in the business school at Kansas State University specializing in Stratrgic Planning, Principles of Mgmt at Ithaca College, and hospitality coursework at Syracuse University and Kansas State University. He has successfully served on multiple boards both industry as well as municipal boards. Dr. Cushman has authored multiple academic research papers, a much sought after lecturer at trade conferences, and quoted hundreds of times in multiple trade journals over his career.Prior to Dr. Cushman’s academic career he was a successful restaurant operations executive. He worked his was up from an entry level position to a senior regional position with Dominos Pizza, winning numerous awards for both sales and profitability. He cites these formative years as where he learned and implemented the practical aspects of P&L management that are the foundation to the success of J&A.

J & A Lincklaen House, LLC is a contract management company that oversees the F&B operations and special events of the Cazenovia Club. The Cazenovia Club is an exclusive, invitation only, private club located on the shores of Cazenovia Lake in Cazenovia, NY.

Negotiated a transitional position with Couche Tard to aid in development of a more effacious distribution model for food service concepts in NA after they acquired the assets of CST Brands.

Oversaw strategic food initiatives in US and all food operations in Canada. Initiatives include: Layout & Design, Equipment Procurement, Food Distribution, Vendor Negotiation, Menu Engineering, Nutritional Data, Personnel Development, Training, Marketing, etc.

Responsible for developing & operating Easy Street Eatery concept. Lectured on various aspects of concept development throughout US & Europe. Easy Street Eatery is a multi unit food service concept developed for retail formats but with the ability to be a stand alone concept. Approximately 100 units were developed using this concept under multiple dba names.
