Greetings! I am Yunong Du (or Jack), an engineering freshman at University of Washington from China. I have been a member of the FRC team 6803, aka HAI-Panda for more than 3 years. During these days, I actively participated all the activities and building as well as the competitions from China to the US. With knowledge acquired from team’s training, combined with my passion inherited from my father (a car engineer), I played critical part in the game of 2020 and 2021. I also attended an online summer course focused on hydrodynamics. Despite the fact that the lectures were too advanced for me (I was 16), it constructed a basis of fluid mechanics in my mind. However, I found myself not that gifted in I programming. I only achieved a 6 out of 7 in IB computer science SL and Python is all what I know. Hopefully that will not stop me from contributing to the team. Besides that I was considered hardworking and passionate with any jobs involve mechanical engineering, especially with workshops or actual building processes. In the meantime, A good team leader and fast thinker, strong at bringing in new insights with brainstorm or leading discussions while capable of telling the need of customer or the requirements of the product design, understand the design principle. Also, I conducted activities beyond engineering. I was a advocate of waste classification back in China, an active biker and badminton player as well as a lead of multiple clubs vary from philosophy, TV shows, creative writing to history.
