Contract: Dalston Western CurveClient: Transport for LondonContract Value: £11mVariation Value: £5mThe scope of this project was construction of a twin portal reinforced concrete covered way, construction of a steel framed clad vent head, demolition of existing single to three storey buildings on the east side over the existing bridge, demolition of the east section of the existing Kingsland High Street bridge deck, construction of a pumping station & valve chamber, track drainage works from the track slab, transition & ballasted track along the full length of the curve, associated track works including pipe crossings and Under Track Crossings. In this role I assisted the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the day to day commercial management of the project. I worked on Phase 1a of the East London Line, my responsibilities including preparing interim valuations, preparing quotations for variations, Final Accounts, Subcontract procurement and management, change control, preparation of Bills of Quantities in accordance with CESMM and re-measuring all the Civil Engineering works. The contract was an NEC 2 option C (target cost with activity schedule), I gained a working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts as all Subcontracts were back to back with the main contract and also attended a few courses on the NEC Suite of Contracts.
