- Increased the depth of my knowledge in clinical biochemistry, microbiology and haematology work, through cooperation and conversation with my colleagues. - Accepting and initial testing of biological specimens from patients, both within and outside the hospital. - Logging the arrival of samples and confirmation of tests performed within the hospital computer database. - Refined my aseptic techniques. - Worked with others to identify and process samples, improving my teamworking and communication skills especially when complications arose. - My problem-solving skills were improved as various problems with patient details on samples, or the samples themselves that needed to be identified, tracked down and corrected so that they could be properly processed.
