I'm a graduate student in computer science focused on artificial intelligence. I currently work as a research assistant in MIT's Computational Cognitive Science lab, where I help develop models of planning and scene understanding . More broadly, I'm interested in applications of AI to modeling and design, VR/AR, and video games. Some questions that interest me: How does the mind bridge abstract and high resolution representations of the world? How do humans adaptively shift their attention between elements of a scene? How can we replicate these shifts ,  which reflect prioritization and value ,  computationally? How does attention operate when we learn to play a game? When we first encounter an engaging artwork or building? During a conversation with another person?Before changing careers, I was a humanities graduate student at Yale and an undergrad in philosophy and religious studies at Stanford. I continue to enjoy discussing philosophy, literature, religion, and their computational analogs.
