I am part of the Hawkweed eradication program in Kosciuszko NP and I am hoping to continue building my experience and knowledge within NPWS.

I was privileged to work among a team of specialised research staff in the Environmental Futures Research Institution (EFRI) at Griffith University. The team conducted critical research contributing to the conservation of Flying Foxes, as well as looking at the dynamics and drivers of the viruses that they carry.

Kosciuszko National Park

GLORIA is a Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Environments, a long term study which has been conducted globally since 1996. I have been lucky enough to be a part of the team of researchers, conducting work in Kosciuszko National Park, in the Australian Alps. This research is focused on monitoring the migration of plant species in relation to climate change, and the ecological effects. During my time on the project, we have observed the vegetation of five consecutive summits on Mount Clarke, involving rigorous surveying of the unique vegetation on each summit, as well as recording the annual temperature of the soil using temperature data loggers, in line with the GLORIA sampling methodology.In addition to the GLORIA research, I have contributed to the surveying of snow patch vegetation communities situated across the main range of Kosciusko National Park. These surveys were conducted to form the first long term study of these unique plant communities within the Australian Alps, to assess how these communities are being influenced/altered as a result of changing climatic conditions.

My role at Easterly Point was to provide professional assessment and remediation of contaminated sites, environmental management and auditing. Through this role I gained experience as a field scientist/consultant and auditor assistant, with a focus in contaminated lands. Easterly Point strives to produce high quality and specialised services, with the integrity of providing a holistic approach to sustainable outcomes for all stakeholders. With the company being based in beautiful Byron Bay of NSW, Australia, I had the opportunity to work on jobs within the local region and provided assistance with projects from as far south as Sydney and to a northern extent of Mackay. Generally, but not limited to, my position entailed developing professional environmental assessment reports, which included reviewing site history, sensitive environments, potential contamination risks and detailed data quality assurance and quality control assessments.
