I am an ecologist and conservation biologist, currently working in the New England Area of New South Wales as a Ranger. Previously, I was part of the Hawkweed eradication program in Kosciuszko NP and I am hoping to continue building my experience and knowledge within NPWS. Prior to NPWS, I have worked with a team of specialised research staff at Griffith University, conducting ecological and human health research in relation to flying foxes and the viruses that they carry. I have also worked for Easterly Point Environmental and Sandpiper Ecological gaining experience as a field scientist/consultant and auditor assistant, with focus on contaminated lands and road ecology.So far I have been fortunate enough to conduct ecological research across both terrestrial and marine environments in locations such as the Great Barrier Reef, Borneo, the Australian Alps and other beautiful areas of Australia’s eastern coastline. This has provided me with specialised skills in flora and fauna surveys, and the ability to conduct ecological health assessments and monitoring and many other technical services. I am excited to continue my professional development in the environmental industry and broaden my expertise as an ecologist and conservation biologist.

Field EcologistGriffith University Feb 2019 - Mar 2020Kosciuszko National ParkGLORIA is a Global Observation Research Initiative in Alpine Environments, a long term study which has been conducted globally since 1996. I have been lucky enough to be a part of the team of researchers, conducting work in Kosciuszko National Park, in the Australian Alps. This research is focused on monitoring the migration of plant species in relation to climate change, and the ecological effects. During my time on the project, we have observed the vegetation of five consecutive summits on Mount Clarke, involving rigorous surveying of the unique vegetation on each summit, as well as recording the annual temperature of the soil using temperature data loggers, in line with the GLORIA sampling methodology.In addition to the GLORIA research, I have contributed to the surveying of snow patch vegetation communities situated across the main range of Kosciusko National Park. These surveys were conducted to form the first long term study of these unique plant communities within the Australian Alps, to assess how these communities are being influenced/altered as a result of changing climatic conditions.
