Current PhD candidate in the NIH-JHU graduate partnership program. Ongoing projects combine in vitro and in silico tools to characterize the molecular evolution of flaviviruses including dengue virus and West Nile virus. Previous work was in SARS-CoV-2 genomic surveillance, malaria genomics, and Hepatitis C virus protein mutagenesis. Plans after completion of PhD will focus on a career in the molecular evolution and mechanisms of viruses and other rapidly evolving systems.
