Working predominantly with SQL to deliver analysis when required to answer a business question. Some understanding and use of SAS to use alongside SQL language to create large data-sets that I utilise to deliver monthly reports through Tableau visual software. I have acquired a high level of understanding on how to produce insight within a Tableau dashboard when working with large data-sets. My duties also include troubleshooting and reporting data anomalies when they occur. My key achievement was the requirement gathering and development of a new product specific dashboard. This significantly reduced the number of requests to the Insight team regarding this product.

This placement sat within the commercial strategy team mainly consisting of the support and delivery of new B2B collateral and I acted as a main point of contact with the agency to ensure the collateral was meeting requirements for the different markets Avios operates in. This required multiple stakeholder engagement across different markets, as well as different departments internally. This was essential as the agency needed the right knowledge from the appropriate areas of the business to be able to produce work with the right level of relevance and accuracy. Another project I worked on within the team was the development of a tracking tool, in which Avios could use to benchmark against competitors in regards to financial results and strategic direction. This work was utilised by an external consulting agency when providing recommendations for stratgeic decisions. In addition I would often be asked to take on extra capacity within the team which included; product audits, writing proposals, preparing reports and presenting documents to internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore I was able to co-ordinate the adhoc creation of an Avios animation for the CEO to present to the IAG management committee on a tight two week deadline.

This placement consists of two projects as well as business as usual. The BAU work completed consisted of updating product prices, maintenance and communicating promotional results. Analysis around competition, redemption products (hotel, flights and ancillaries) and payments was also provided. The main project was an analysis project in Excel with the main goal of aligning air partner pricing across BA and Iberia programmes. The recommendations I provided from the analysis was corroborated by senior pricing analysts and has been put forward to the relevant people across the programmes to review and implement.
