By studying the emergence of various exchanges, 1486 Labs has identified that data will be the next greatest commodity bought, sold, and traded. In the next decade, the transactions among buyers for external data will become more sophisticated and require more focus on use cases and return on investment. This will create a need for transparency and standards. 1486 Labs is working on the creation of a digital community for professionals who purchase and manage external data to enrich our understanding about buyers of data and gain the knowledge to drive impactful, positive change in this space.As a Legal Intern I research laws, regulations, and thought leadership surrounding data (purchasing/licensing, selling, using) and building a legal database with a focus on best practices for our customers. I also work to design and develop a comprehensive FAQ document that addresses common questions and concerns that any company would have related to legal rights around data, including the review and validation of the accuracy of all answers. To do this I design a mechanism to make this document a living database, including new information to continuously refresh the database.

As a UTA for the Economics Department at Pitt, I instructed a group of up to 80 students outside of class to ensure their understanding of difficult material, while communicating with the professor on lesson plans and teaching techniques to help students be better suited for success. Also I has to adapt to different students’ learning abilities by creating intuitive ways of explaining difficult concepts more simply. It was a great experience to help teach economics to younger students and help them get accumulated at the University.

As a summer intern abroad in Germany, I added valuable information to FormlyAI's product’s software by reading European Union Medical Device Regulations and then implemented the aspects that are pertinent to our customers to make the best customer experience. I also utilized cross-cultural competencies to work with a start-up team of employees to create supplemental products related to international medical device standards to enhance the customer experience with the main product. Gaining experience abroad proved to be invaluable from the skills that I gained in Germany.

As a intern at Oyster Point Pharma, I developed and implemented an educational program to the company’s employees to ensure the company remained compliant with the extensive pharmaceutical industry codes. Also, I worked extensively with the Compliance and Legal teams to create and enforce a monitoring system for sales representatives utilized in over 500 interactions between sales representatives and doctors and patients. Finally, I documented changes in company rules and standard operating procedures to reflect changing company conditions. It was a meaningful and fulfilling experience and I'd like to thank Oyster Point for the opportunity.

Worked with an independent attorney, Donald Veix Jr., by attending different legal proceedings, and understanding what skills are necessary in these proceedings.
