While working as a political researcher for The Times Guide to the House of Commons 2017, its editor, Ian Brunskill, tasked me with working as an editorial assistant for another of his books, The Times Companion to 2017: The Best Writing from The Times. This involved helping him to proofread it, ensuring it kept to The Times’s style guide and correcting typesetting mistakes.

I was a political researcher for The Times Guide to the House of Commons 2017. The book prides itself on its accuracy and quality of research.I managed to make myself a valued member of a core team which took on greater levels of responsibility for writing, editing and organising the book.

As a part-time internal communications officer, I was responsible for writing police-related articles that were shared on the force's Intranet page, Citynet.
