Spanning that time to the present has produced a 30-year career in software and firmware architecture, design, and development. I have been fortunate to work within small, highly skilled teams, leveraging leading edge technology, and delivering industry leading products to market. Also responsible for Yocto/PetaLinux BSP build packages and driver modifications to support the board.Designed and developed a EuroTherm temperature controller driver for Instron’s Bluehill 3 Software. Work included designing a Modbus protocol module along with RS-422 communications support.Ported Instron SmartTest Control System components to MicroC/OS-II, and deployed on a NetBurner hardware platform (32-bit Freescale ColdFire processor). This work also involved design and developing a suite of extension components to allow SmartTest control subsystems to be distributed across a LAN using TCP/IP.Ported Instron SmartTest to the Windows 2000 OS, and worked as a member of the development team to integrate SmartTest into Instron’s flagship Bluehill 3 Material Test Program. Designed and delivered TCP/IP communications extensions to SmartTest and used these extensions to add support for Instron’s 5900 Series Test Frames into Bluehill 3.
