My education in engineering has provided me with hands-on learning experiences in thermodynamics, mechanics of materials, machine design, and fluid mechanics. Utilizing a wide range of computer programs and software, I learned how to analyze, troubleshoot, and design physical systems. I am an analytical thinker with an innate ability to understand “how things work.” In high school, I worked as a junior mechanic at an auto shop. The shop owner quickly realized that I could be trusted with more than just oil changes; I helped diagnose and perform major repairs and worked independently on smaller jobs.In college, I capitalized on my abilities and collaborated with teams to complete projects. We designed, built, and tested an escapement mechanism simulating assembly using SOLIDWORKS. We succeeded in maintaining movement for 60+ seconds! The goal of my Capstone Project was to reduce plastic waste from 3D printing. We created a PLA print recycling machine that extrudes a reusable filament. Integral to my education at Wentworth, were my internship experiences. I worked at BVH Integrated Services in Newton supporting HVAC Engineers. I helped identify and resolve functionality issues of HVAC systems. I utilized Revit, CAD, and Trace software to pinpoint problems, change specifications, and determine energy loads. I also worked at Grady Consulting in Kingston assisting Civil Engineers. In this role, I used the Matterhorn 3D scanner to conduct land surveys of foundations and septic systems. I am energized by challenges and persistent in finding solutions. With a unique blend of innovative thinking and meticulous attention to detail, I seek to use technology as a force for positive change.
