Currently I head up a three man team that works alongside mould shop manufacturing.We assist in the day to day manufacture of injection moulded polymer components, troubleshooting of moulding and robotic faults. As well as identifying potential cycle time and labour reducing improvements (i.e. integrated robotic sprue cutter and disposal).I am the mould shop process lead in all new projects, working closely with design and tooling to highlight and provide solutions to potential injection moulding problems as we as productivity improvements. I also visit and work with our toolmakers to develop new tooling before it reaches the UK.When tools are transported to the UK my team and myself develop and create the injection moulding parameters, end of arm tooling, secondary operations and robot de-moulding programs.I also specify all new equipment in the mould shop (i.e. injection mould machines, mould temperature control units and robots). I also look at new technologies within injection moulding that can increase productivity and profitability, as a result we are now increasing our twin shot capacity and introducing MuCell early 2017.
