• Management and planning of subcontractor’s scope of works. Directly responsible for key work packages, totalling £15m, including installation of all: Horizontal Directional Drills, Joint Bays, Trackway and Trenching/ Ducting works. Where possible, seeks to find opportunities for cost saving and programme duration reduction. Chairs weekly progress meetings.• Responsible for quantifying material requirement for designs and ensuring delivery in order to meet programme requirements.• Diligently prepares relevant documentation for all work packages including producing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Utility drawings, Permits and Environmental Documentation to complete a task.• Liaises directly with local authorities to gain Section 50 permits for Road Crossings. Also has built strong relationships with other key stakeholders to allow flexibility in the programme for crossing existing utilities with Horizontal Directional Drills.• Produced the Security Plan for the project, including a key initiative with the local authorities to reduce risk of criminal damage at key locations along the cable route when risk is at its highest. Directly manages the guarding & camera requirement on the project via liaison with the security subcontractor, chairing weekly coordination meetings to aid this.• Plays a Critical part in reducing cost due to design change through forward planning and surveying locations to eliminate the need for bentonite works. This, coincided with regular meetings with the design team, helped to prioritise re-designs accordingly.• Line Manager for multiple supervisors in a fluid and fast paced environment. Maintained good team cohesion alongside upskilling team members to aid with production of site information packs.• Responsible for the site management of compounds and yards, including: welfare requirements, yard deliveries and coordination of daily briefings.• Always prioritises safety, and where possible strives to eliminate risk.
