‘Store Your Dorm’ has given me a great insight into the Canadian labor force. This position has allowed me to deal with many different international students and their relatives in a professional environment. I was able to utilize some of my existing skills, such as: Carrying out card payment transactions, handling cash,, inventory management, decision making, negotiating with clients, logistics, warehousing, communication skills, quoting prices and reporting to upper management, alongside many more.

In this registered position, my role requires me to work incredibly close with three brokers that possess cumulative experience of around 80 years. I execute all trading activity for equities, Mutual Funds, Bonds and other fixed income products, provide portfolio performance reports, communicate with clients through many different channels, issue statements, build on existing relationships and create new ones, trade reconciliation and withdrawals among many more.

SaxoCentre.com was created to provide customers with the exact vehicle that they required. The business was very profitable throughout its 12 months existence and allowed me to tone my sales strategies, techniques and online retailing skills. This business was also disposed of in 2008.

For four years, I ran my own successful VAT registered car repair business with an integrated sales unit. During this time, I developed strong management and business skills by dealing with staff and a wide variety of customers on a daily basis. Often under great pressure, I worked as part of a team, gained important communication and leadership skills and managed the business to meet to strict deadlines. My entrepreneurial skill set was used at every opportunity and the business became very successful. I was also extensively involved with exporting vehicles out of Japan for resale throughout the UK and Europe, using Internet based marketing and Internet auction sites. This business was sold in 2008.

Directly after school, I enrolled in a three year apprenticeship at Warwickshire College, in Leamington Spa, England. The program combined practical experience in the work place and also enabled me to tone my skills in the class room. I studied vehicle service, maintenance/repair of cars and light commercial vehicles. I achieved a Level III NVQ with most modules passed with distinction. During this time, I was a member of the IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry).
