Passionate and Determined. 2 words many people in my life have used to describe me.I’m passionate about people and new experiences, diving into the void and being brave enough to be bad at something new, but always persisting to be better in my work and as a person. My determination has allowed me to take on many new roles and commit everything I have to feed that hunger to learn and satisfy my understanding of the unknown. For a big part of my life, I was unsure of the direction I wanted to take. Graduating from a bachelor of Health Science degree in 2013, I was sure science was my calling. Fascinated by the underlying causes of the world around us, I loved that science had the answers and when it didnt, failure was always welcomed as a way of progress. Now, I have found my calling, not along the biological science tree but the computer science tree. Software Engineering has opened my eyes to a new world of creativity, problem solving and mystery I found too good to ignore. Executing scripts that I’ve written and seeing the work display and function how I intended is an extremely rewarding feeling. The idea that failing and breaking code is seen as a positive to refine your work and learn, aligns with my inner science values. What I find quite wholesome is the community of fellow developers, whether online or in a team, everyone works to better the other and share their thoughts, ideas and code!
