Having finished my first two years of studying BA Marketing Hons at the University of the West of England, I decided to use my third year in industry; adding value to myself and my degree. This was organised through Bristol UWE's placement year programme. I was employed for 11 months at The Ministry of Defence as a Project Controller within the Special Projects and Secret Counter Measures (SPSCM) subdivision. After a month of coaching, I was involved in several million-pound projects with a strong military and civilian team. With some project’s life expectancy being around 10 to 15 years, I gained skills like long-term organisation, negotiation and patience. Having worked in a secret branch (SPSCM), it meant I had to be Security Cleared and DV (Developed Vetting) Cleared. This taught me trust in a workplace as well as loyalty and reliability.
