In this position the standard for customer service and experience is paramount. The value of this experience translates into effective communication skills, both in the expectations of courteous interactions with customers and the ability to work cooperatively with my coworkers. Teamwork is essential, such as in task delegation, dividing attention between customers, and maintaining smooth operations during busy periods. Moreover, this position regularly involves a high degree of physically demanding tasks, such as moving slabs of beer and the like. Whilst safety is paramount, particularly with lifting, this position assists in maintaining the physical fitness required to conduct these tasks. Understanding the product is also pertinent in delivering the best possible experience to customers. My ability to describe products and give recommendations within price ranges helps me to guide customers through decisions with products, as well as affording me opportunities for conversation and interactions to build rapport.

In this position, I worked in a retail setting. I developed my capabilities in safely conducting physically demanding work, solidified my aptitude in customer service and experience, and I developed an understanding of the importance of product knowledge as an essential element of the position.

As a volunteer, my duties involved running on-campus events on behalf of the Science Student Society. This involved regular communications with executive members to organise event times, equipment and finances. My responsibilities primarily involved running and organising fortnightly barbecues, as well as the expectation to assist and maintain involvement with other events run by the society, such as off-campus and educational events.

As a volunteer, I assisted in organising and running on-campus events for students on behalf of the Science Student Society. One of my main roles was helping to run fortnightly barbecues.

In this position I gained hospitality skills, worked regularly with money, and developed my customer service abilities.

During this 6 week program I received laboratory training and assisted/contributed to research into inflammation and cell death. As a BSL-2 level laboratory, I was familiarised with the use of PPE, decontamination procedures, and safety working with hazardous chemical and biological materials. I was taught in the use of equipment such as but not limited to pipettes, fume hoods, centrifuges, and conducted procedures such as cell culture and western blotting.

Involved working closely with customers and coworkers and maintaining the responsibility needed to work with money on registers.
