The value of this experience translates into effective communication skills, both in the expectations of courteous interactions with customers and the ability to work cooperatively with my coworkers. As a volunteer, my duties involved running on-campus events on behalf of the Science Student Society. This involved regular communications with executive members to organise event times, equipment and finances. My responsibilities primarily involved running and organising fortnightly barbecues, as well as the expectation to assist and maintain involvement with other events run by the society, such as off-campus and educational events.
