BSc (Hons) MCD IHBC MRTPI I am a dual qualified town planner and heritage planner and have considerable experience of working within the public and private sectors. I am Director of Adapt Heritage (Independent Heritage Consultancy) and a Historic Building Advisor for the Ministry of Defence. I am a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) and a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).

My role represents the historic building expertise within the MOD which involves ensuring the delivery of Government and MOD historic estate policy through the effective implementation of advice and strategy. The role provides an important interface between the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and the military stakeholders, advising on a diverse range of proposals. The work broadly includes:• Technical heritage advice on proposals.• Advising on existing and emerging national policy and guidance • Liaison with key stakeholders• Effective management of the estate. • Responding to Parliamentary Questions and Ministerial BriefsThe estate includes MOD Barracks, Airfields, Naval Bases and a vast training estate that extends from the deep marine environment, through dune systems and across the UK to the mountainous forests and moorlands of Scotland and Northern Ireland. My particular focus is on built heritage assets within the North of England, Midlands and Scotland.
